Chamber Ambassadors

The Do’ers, the faces, and the people everyone knows. Ambassadors are the most active members of the SV Chamber.

What they do

Every chamber has members. Ours has ambassadors.

Ambassadors are out in front at Silicon Valley Connect networking events. They work one-on-one with new members so nobody joins and then wonders what happens next. They show up at ribbon cuttings. And when the Chamber needs hands, theirs go up first.

  • Greet and welcome at Chamber networking events
  • Personally onboard new members, one to one
  • Turn out for ribbon cuttings across the valley
  • Volunteer at signature events and programs
  • Bring member feedback back to the Chamber

Meet the ambassadors staff to complete

This is the format. Names, businesses, and headshots come from the Ambassador Committee roster — there is no public list to pull from, so staff fills these in.

The commitment

Ambassadors are already at Chamber events, so most of the work happens where you were going anyway. When the committee needs to sit down, it meets in the Chamber conference room on the 2nd Wednesday at 10:00am, except July and December. Those meetings run an hour or less.

What you get out of it

Ambassadors meet more members than anyone else in the Chamber, and they meet them first. New members remember the person who welcomed them. If your business runs on referrals and relationships, this is the shortest path to both.

It also puts you in the room with the board, staff, and the Chamber’s most engaged members — which is where board recruitment tends to start.

Other ways to serve

Ambassadors are one of several committees
